In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful By the steeds (that run) panting (breath) Striking sparks of fire And pushing charge to the raid at dawn Raising dust trailing clouds the while Cleaving as one through the centre of foe Truly man is to his Lord ungrateful And to that (fact) he bears witness And violent he is in his love of wealth Does henot know, when that is in the graves is scattered abroad And that which is (locked in a) mans chest is made manifest That their Lord has been well aquianted with them, (even to) that day? |
Early Makkan Surah revealing the depth and mystery of its language and symbolism in its subject matter of spiritual power and knowledge in contrast to Man's ingratitude, pettiness, helplessness and ignorance
