5. Funerals Regulations & Exhortations - Muhammad al-Jibaly

|
We inevitably go through the journey starting in this life, and extending into the grave, before our final abode in the hereafter. In the process, we pass through stages of sickness, death, and the intermediate life in the grave (al-Barzakh). These are the subjects with which "The Inevitable Journey" deals over a sequence of four titles: I. Sickness: Regulations & Exhortations II. The Islamic Will & Testament III. Funeral Regulations IV. Life in al-Barzakh. This book is the third in the series. It deals with the actual occurrence of death, and all lessons and regulations relating to it. It includes a close-to-complete translation of al-Albani's Ahkaam ul-Janaa'iz. In addition, it contains extensive supplementary material, and an enhanced presentation with tables and diagrams, making it a useful handbook, reference, and source of admonishment concerning death. We believe that this is the first book in English presenting this material, based on purely authentic evidence, to this level of depth, breadth, and practicality. Indeed, we offer praise and thanks to Allaah for facilitating this.

7. Closer than a Garment - Muhammad al-Jibaly

|
"This is one of a 3-book series covering various aspects of marriage according to the authentic Sunnah. Marriage plays a most central role in the human life, and has been largely discussed by the scholars of Islaam through the ages, resulting in numerous writings and treatises. Some of those writings, mostly by contemporary scholars, have been translated into English. However, we find them restricted in scope, addressing Muslims wh live in predominantly Islaamic countries, or overlooking important real issues that have developed under modern civilization. This leaves quite a large gap that needs to be filled for the benefit of the Muslims in English-speaking countries, and this is what we attempt to fulfill over the span of three books." This unique title covers a number of different aspects in marriage, including human sexuality, Islamic etiquettes of intimacy, prohibited acts of intimacy, ghusl, the 'awrah, zina', birth control, indecent acts, and more.

9. History of Islam (3 volumes) - Akbar Shah Najeebabadi

History stands as the most effective and valuable source of putting nation on the course of progress and prosperity and saving them from the path of disgrace and degradation. At a time, when there is tough competition among the nations of the world to excel one another, the Muslims, despite having the most glorious history, appear to be detached and careless as regards their history. This book presents the true Islamic events and their actual causes before the English readers because the other books in the English language found on the Islamic history have been written by such authors and compilers who did no justice in presenting the true picture of Islamic Era but their prejudice prevented them from doing so. |
These three volumes of the book “History of Islam” was originally written in the Urdu language in 1922 (1343 AH) by Akbar Shah Khan Najeebabadi. This was the time about 25 years before the partition of Indian Subcontinent into Pakistan and India . For the purpose of brevity, the compiler has presented the authentic events in concise form from the famous histories of Islam written in the Arabic and Persian languages by the great Muslim historians like Tabari, Ibn Athir, Mas'udi, Abul-Fida', Ibn Khaldun and Suyuti, apart from getting benefited from the authentic books of Ahadith for the compilation of the part about the biography of the Prophet Muhammad . So, this compilation is actually the extract of the works of the famous Muslim historians.
In the first volume, starting with the introduction of the history as a subject, the country, people and conditions of Arabia prior to the advent of Islam were discussed, and an account of the life of Prophet Muhammad was presented including the hardships and opposition he faced while propagating the message of Islam, and the details of migration and the period after it until his death. After that the description of Rightly Guided Caliphate was also discussed in its full perspective.
In this second volume, starting with the Caliphate of Banu Umayyah, the martyrdom of Imam Husain (R) and the Caliphate of the Abbasids, all areas have been covered as far as the expansion of Islam was.
This third volume begins with the description of the conditions of Spain before and after the rule of Muslims and the role played by Umayyad, Abbasid, Almoravid and Almohad Caliphs there and their encounters with the Christian Armies. Then some mention of the conquest of Morocco and North Africa has been given along with the details of Idrisia and Aghlabs rule there. After that detailed accounts of Ganghisid Mongols, Turks and Tartar Mangols have been produced. After that Islamic history of Persia is described giving the accounts of Saffariah, Samanid, Delmid, Gharnavid, Seljuk, Ghourid and Muluk Dynasties with the periods of Khwarizm Shah, Atabeks and Sistan Kings rule there. Then the Islamic history of Egypt and Syria is covered describing the Ubaidullah, Ayyubid and Mamluk Dynasties, and the rule of Atabek and Abbasid Caliphs. In the end, something about the Ottoman Dynasty and its Empire is discussed including the description of the conquest of Constantinople .

10. The Friday Prayer: Khutbas (2 Parts) - Jamaal al-Din Zarabozo

|
The Friday Prayer is one of the most important acts of worship in the religion of Islam. It is an act that is very pleasing to Allah. When performed properly, it acts as an explanation for the worshipper. Yet this act of worship, like any other act of worship, must be performed in the manner that is pleasing to Allah. That is, it must be done in accord with the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Therefore, Muslims should do their best to learn the proper and correct manners of performing the Friday Prayer.
This book has been prepared for this purpose. This has been done through a detailed study of the Qur'an and authentic Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) as well as the understanding and application of theses sources by the Companions and those who followed their methodology. An attempt has been made to give as complete a picture as possible of the Friday Prayer based on those sources. |

11. Ibn al-Jawzee's The Devil's Deception - Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

|
This is a powerful book and a must for anyone wanting to know about the filth of sectarianism. It is an edited translation of Ibnul-Jawzees classical works Talbees Iblees. An authoritative book containing a wealth of information on the beginnings of some of the sects in light of the Quraan and Sunnah.
In the Muslim world a number of refutations of the Shi'ite beliefs have been made by early scholars, and Shi'ite deviations from the mainstream are well known. Also a number of books and pamphlets have been wriiten recently in rebuttal to the Shi'ite's deceptive call to mend the rift between Sunni and Shee'ah. However, due to the extreme scarcity of material in English concerning the history of Shi'ites and their creed, little or no comparison can be made by new-Muslims. They are subsequently overwhelmed by the Iranian propaganda onslaught in which many of the more deviant beliefs have been cleverly disguised. Hence there is a dire need for the translation of authoritative classical works on the Shee'ah. Although classical works written in polemic style tend to alienate readers who are uncommitted to either side of the controversy, such works often contain a wealth of important information.

12. The Fundamentals of Tawheed - Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

|
This book presents a detailed explanation of the classical Islamic concept of God's unity as it relates to faith and acts of religious devotion. It also discusses the major areas within which the Islamic Unitarian belief (Tawheed) is either nullified or compromised by idolatrous concepts collectively called the Shirk. The uniqueness of this work lies not only in its thorough treatment of the subject in a fluid and uncomplicated English style but also in its modern presentation of classical theological issues. |

14. Fifteen Ways to increase your earnings From the Qur'an & Sunnah
Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi

|
One of the blessings that Allah has given His servants is that of a convenient means of financial exchange, i.e. money. Money has since grown to become one of the most' prized possessions of mankind, and like so many elements of the dunya, serves to test the obedience of Allah's servants by challenging their system of priorities... Therefore, due to the fact that the Muslims of today are preoccupied with the seeking of money to an extent almost unparalleled in Islamic history, I felt the need to compile a short treatise explaining the manner in which Allah and His Messenger described how Muslims could increase their money. The focus of this book is upon encouraging Muslims to procure money through halal means, and to abstain from haram gains. Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, TX, but completed his primary and secondary education in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia . He graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston , after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah . After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences. He is presently doing an M.A. in Islamic Theology ('aqidah) from the College of Da'wah at the University. Of his published works are: Riyaa: Hidden Shirk; An Introduction to the Sciences of the Qur'an; An Explanation of the Four Principles of Shirk;Du'a: The Weapon of the Believer; and others.

15. Prostration for Forgetfulness in the Prayer - Muhammad ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen

|
Then many people are ignorant about many of the rulings concerning the Sujoodus-Sahw (Prostration for forgetfulness) in the prayer. Some of them leave the Sujoodus-Sahw when it is obligatory upon them; others perform the prostration in other than its correct place; some perform it before the salaam (Salutation at the end of the prayer) even in cases when it has to be performed after the salaam; others prostrate after the salaam even when it should be performed before it. Therefore, it is very important to become aware of its rulings, especially for the imaams whom the people follow in their prayers, and who have therefore taken on the responsibility of following that which is correct and prescribed in their prayers, and of leading the Muslims upon that.

16. Muslim Manners - Iqbal Ahmad Azami

|
Muslim Manners provides a comprehensive guide to traditional Islamic teaching and its effect on Muslims' daily lives. Only by following God's guidance can Muslims live in peace while they are on earth and attain Paradise in the Afterlife. It is through a strong network of Islamic attitudes and actions based on knowledge that Muslims are able to bind both to one another and to their faith. Muslim Manners make a rich contribution to necessary that knowledge.
In order to live by God's unchanging standards Muslims need a clear understanding that Islam is a total system. This book provides information on kindness, obedience, helping others, respect hospitality, dress, hygiene and animal welfare. It also covers such subjects of topical relevance to today's young Muslims growing up in the West as obligations to parents and teachers, choosing the right company, racial and color equality, purity, modesty and chastity

Bid'ah is a way that can lead to kufr. It is a change in the religion that Allah did not permit. Bid'ah is worse than major sins. The sinner commits a sin knowing that it is a sin. He may later repent for it. The one who performs Bid'ah does so thinking that it is permissible and that it will bring him closer to Allaah and so he does not repent from it. Bid'ah destroys the Sunnah. Bid'ah leads to rejecting the sunnah. Bid'ah takes one away from Allah, brings about His punishment and Anger and leads to corruption of the heart.

27. Al-Khutoot Al-‘Areedah – Broad aspects of Shi'ite religion
Muhibbudeen Al-Khateeb

|
Though it is a small volume, the benefit derived form it is great. The Muslims should know who are the enemies of the Companions of the Prophet (SAW) and the enemies of the Islamic teachings which have reached us through them. The Companions were indeed the reservoirs and the conduits of the Divine Revelation received by the Prophet (SAW) and it is thanks to their noble efforts that we Muslims have found and continue to find refreshment in the pure unsullied stream of Revealed Truth.
The enemies of Islam would like to sow seeds of doubt in the minds of Muslims concerning the noble Companions of the Prophet (SAW). It is their aim by so doing to cast doubt upon Islamic law, and even, by implication, upon the very source of our law, the Glorious Qur'aan and the Authentic Traditions of the life of the Holy Messenger of Allah (SAW).
Al-Khutoot Al-'Areedah uncovers the faces of our enemies and exposes their secret tenets and hidden beliefs. |

28. The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam - Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

|
The methodology of this book is unique in dealing with the many subjects it covers. In fact, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi is a pioneer, the first to handle this subject using this particular approach. He has attempted, with considerable success in the Arabic original, to collect and summarize the issues from both ancient and modern Islamic references. Being himself a recognized Islamic scholar, he has had to make a judgment in selecting those points of view which he strongly felt meet the needs of Muslims in reference to the changing circumstances of this time. However, this by no means presents all dimensions of the "discussion relating to each issue, which it is impossible to cover in a book of this modest size. Although the present volume is very useful, it cannot by itself fill the gaps, meet the challenges, or answer the multitude of questions which face Muslim communities living in the Western world.
This new revised edition contains a more comprehensive, cross-referenced index enabling the reader to pinpoint passages of interest more efficiently, thus enabling its value as a work of reference. It also contains a complete transliteration of Arabic terms, fully vocalized with diacritical marks to enable readers with even the most rudimentary knowledge of Arabic to understand their origins and pronounce them correctly.
Dr Yusuf Al-Qaradawi is a prominent Muslim scholar who has devoted his life to the cause of Islam. Born in Egypt , he was educated at al-Azhar University in Cairo . He is the author of numerous books and his contributions to the field of Islamic scholarship are noteworthy.

30. Bareilawis – History and Beliefs - Ehsan Elahi Zaheer

Bareilawiyyat is a fistula, a perpetual running-sore of the Muslim society as it constitutes neither a sect, nor a school of thought in the strict sense of the term, but it can be considered a cult, having a whole system of doctrines of its own. It is not a religion within religion, but beyond religion. |
Like other heretical sects, Bareilawiyyat deviates also from the right path, enunciated explicitly in the Qur'an and elucidated by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The followers of this sect use the name of "Ahl al-Sunna" which is misleading for a common man. Under the guise of Sunna, they are using every kind of extremism, exaggeration, innovations, heresies
and blasphemies. Their tenets are mostly against the basic
teachings of Islam. The Bareilawis have entrusted the whole universe to Allah's creatures instead of Allah; the prophets, saints, spiritual guides, their novices, the righteous men and their tombs. Grave-worship has become rampant among the ignorant Muslims owing to the efforts of the Bareilawis. A Muslim, who was monotheist and a firm believer in Allah, now stands before the tombs, and bows, prostrates and goes round them and supplicates like the supplication to Allah. This is all due to the teachings of the Bareilawis. The beliefs and practices have been condemned by Islam; as the Islam came to annihilate them.
They have excommunicated the eminent Muslim scholars, thinkers, jurists and reformers. Allama Ehsan Elahi Zaheer, a renowned, indefatigable and an erudite scholar, has made a laudable service to write an authentic book on the Bareilawis. He has written this book in Arabic, so that the Muslims of the Middle Eastern countries and other parts of the world can get the first-hand information about this Indian sect. He has exposed these people through their own tongue. He has gone through the whole available printed material, written by the Bareilawi authorities and he has taken painstaking and the strenuous efforts to analyse and scrutinise the Bareilawi beliefs and practices. He has made the laborious researches in the original sources and tried to refute their beliefs with the reference of their own works |

38. Explanation of the Three Fundamental Principles of Islaam
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih Al-‘Uthaymeen

|
This is the English translation of Sharh Thalaathul-Usool by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen. This is an explanation of the booklet Thalaathul-Usool (The Three Principles) by Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abdul-Wahhaab, rahimatullah, who wrote this in order to convey to every Muslim that which is obligatory upon him to know - in fact, the three principles are based on the three questions that we will all be asked in our graves. As such this book will be beneficial for everyone.
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al- Uthaymeen was one of the leading scholars of the Muslim world.
He was actively involved in Da'wah, both through his lectures and writings, some of which have been translated into English. Not only is he well know for his vast knowledge but also his ability to teach and convey that knowledge – may Allah reward him with good and give him Jannah. |

39. Companions of the Prophet - Abdul Wahid Hamid

|
This book highlights aspects of the lives of thirty Companions of the Prophet, some famous, others almost completely unknown. Here the trials and triumphs of the early Muslims as individuals are well-portrayed. Their various paths to Islam - sometimes direct, sometimes long and tortuous, their devotion to the noble Prophet, their endeavours in peace time and their exploits in war - all serve to cast them in a heroic mould. This is the first of two (formerly published as a series of three) books based on original Arabic sources and written in a style that is lively and often gripping. The lives of the Sahabah or Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, is a rich storehouse of knowledge, guidance and inspiration. The men and women whose stories are told here helped to lay the foundations of a new world order, and it is only fitting that they should be more widely known.

Death is not a complete annihilation of man. It is sort of evolution imposed and decreed on all creatures of various evolutions.
…. before death is called the worldly life and that after death is called the life of the Hereafter. Therefore, death separates between two lives, for the annihilation of man terminates him forever.

45. The Reality of Sufism in the Light of Qur'aan & Sunnah
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Rabee' ibn Haadee Al-Madkhalee

|
… you must be aware that there are a number of destructive calls which have been established amongst the ranks of the Muslims and which have shaken and damaged the beliefs held in their hearts. They have polluted the pure Islamic ‘aqeedah and have grown by stages to reach such a dangerous level tat they have led to the splitting of the Muslims into sects and parties about which the Prophet (PBUH) said:” Indeed those who were before you, from the People of the Book, split into seventy two sects and this religion will split into seventy three. Seventy two in the Fire and one in paradise, and it is the Jamaa'h.. Then there is no doubt that each one of these sects claim fro itself that it is the saved sect and that it is correct and that it alone follows the Messenger (PBUH). But the way of truth is is a single way and it is the one which leads to salvation and any other way is one of the ways of misguidance which leads to destruction…
So the way of truth is to cling to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of Allaah's Messenger (PBUH) as occurs in the Hadeeth: “ I have left amongst you two things with which you will not go astray: The Book of Allaah and my Sunnah and they will not be separated till they come to me at the Pond.” |

48. A Short Companion to The Sirah of the Prophet ( A Brief History in Fourty Stages)
Dr Mounir M. Al Ghadban

|
Throughout history, the world has never witnessed an ideal character like that of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This fact is maintained in the EverGlorious Qur' an, when Almighty Allah says, "Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example for him who hopes in Allah and the Final Day, and who remembers Allah much."
Also, some moderate Orientalists admit the same. Lamartine said, "If greatness of purpose, smallness' of means and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad?"
Thus, A Short Companion to the Sirah of the Prophet introduces the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in brief, summarizing it into forty-one units, so that readers may comprehend the main aspects of the Prophet's Sirah in a little time.

54. Meaning and Message of the Traditions Vol. 1
Mohammad Manzoor Nomani

|
The Hadith literature is a monumental treasure of wisdom which is at once a commentary upon the Ouran and a complement to its teachings: it is, in fact, the most precious source of guidance which Islamic society possesses. Without Hadith much of the Ouran would be a closed book. It is, therefore, not at all surprising that the Muslims did not spend so much time and energy On any branch of learning as on the collection, compitation, critical examination and propagation of the Hadith literature.
The author who learnt the science of Hadith from highly accomplished teachers, and, then taught and devoted his life to the preaching of the Islamic creed and the prophet's way of life, has relied wholly upon the standard collections of the Hadith literature and the commentaries written and critical investigations made by reputed scholars. His chief aim in writing this book has been to make available the guidance and precepts preserved in the accumulated stock of the Prophet's Traditions to the modern educated Muslims and, thereby, to make it easy for them to follow the path chalked out by the holy Prophet of Islam. He has paid particular attention to explain and elucidate the meaning and import of the Traditions in a simple and easy language,
The book deals with the Islamic creed and compassion, with a view to enable the English-Knowing people to understand the true spirit and message of these Traditions. The translations are exquisite and simple. |

It is hoped that the publication of “The meaning and message of the Traditions” will go a long way in filling the void and promoting a new understanding of the doctrines and principles of Islam among the modern-educated Muslims.
The author has strictly avoided entering into purely theoretical discussions and concentrated mainly on explaining the essential meaning and purpose of the traditions against the background of the mental, moral and social environment of the contemporary world. |

56. Meaning and Message of the Traditions Vol. III
Mohammad Manzoor Nomani

|
The main purpose of writing the present series, as the author tells in the foreword, is to enable those who cannot read the original compilations of the Traditions to obtain an adequate knowledge of the teachings and 'good example' of the sacred Prophet, and gain an access to his august presence which is now possible only through the study of books dealing with the authentic reports of his sayings and doings. Two Volumes of Maulana Mohammad Manzoor Nomani's monumental work, Ma'ariful Hadith, have already appeared in English. In the first volume were included the traditions appertaining to Faith, the hereafter and Softheartedness, and, in the second, to cleanliness, worship and funerals. The third volume of the Meaning and Message of the Traditions, which is now before you, consists of reports concerning Zakat (Poor-due), Roza (Fasting) and the Haj (Pilgrimage to Mecca ).
It is hoped that like the two earlier volumes, the present one, too, will be read with interest and prove helpful in promoting a new understanding of the tenets and doctrines of Islam in the existing social and spiritual environment |

57. Meaning and Message of the Traditions Vol. IV
Mohammad Manzoor Nomani

|
Prophet Muhammad {peace be upon him) transmitted al-Ouran to mankind not only by proclaiming the Word of God but also by practising it, and also by explaining it through his actions, behaviour, words and approval or disapproval of the things, all under divine guidance. His life was a divinely guided commentary on the Holy Ouran, as testified by Sayyeda Ayesha who said of him, "His character was" the Ouran." Thus hadith is, for Muslim individuals and the Muslim Ummah, a source of guidance second only to the Ouran. A fair knowledge of hadith is thus fundamental to every Muslim's ability to live Islam both individually and collectively. It was for this reason that the Muslims did not spend as much time and energy on any branch of learning as on the collection, compilation, critical examination and propagation of the hadith literature.
The Traditions induded in this volume appertain to morality, social conduct and monetary transaction. They show what moral attributes are pleasing to God, with which of them one should adorn one's life and what are the moral faults and vices that make a man unworthy of God's mercy and benevolence, and should be left strictly alone. They will, further, show how one has to behave towards one's relatives, both near and distant, and friends and strangers, old and young, rich and poor, and all others with whom one comes into contact, one way or the other, in various walks of life, and how are social and moral responsibilities to be fulfilled in respect of mankind, in general, and, in fact, in regard to all created beings. What, in brief, are anyone's claims on anyone and what are one's duties, have been fully illustrated in the Traditions taken from the Mishkatul Masabih, Jam'a-ul-Fuyawid, Kanzul 'Ummal, Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim and other authentic collections.
